Halloween Fun at East Lothian Libraries


Check out some of the great Halloween events happening at East Lothian Libraries.
Dunbar Library on Thursday 25th October from 6-7pm are having a Halloween event with spooky stories and games. Dress to scare! This event is for over 8's only. Book your space at Dunbar Library.

Dunbar Library will also be having a Halloween Crafts session on Friday 26th October 2018 from 2:30pm- 3:30pm. Make your own mask and scary spider, take part in a scavenger hunt and there will also a prize for the best fancy dress. No need to book just drop in.

East Linton Library will have Halloween drop in activities on during the school holidays whilst open.

Gullane Library will be having a small craft session on the afternoon of Tuesday 30th October. There are a few things to make but all with the Halloween theme. The session will run from 3.30pm – 4.15pm.  All ages welcome
Longniddry Library are having a Spooky Halloween Craft session on Wed 31st October at 3.30pm- 4.30pm.
North Berwick Library will be having Halloween Stories and Crafts on Wednesday 31st October from 4.00-5.00pm. The event is free and for ages 6-11.
Prestonpans Library will be having spooky crafts on 17th October between 10-1pm.
Tranent Library on Friday 19th October are having a free Halloween Craft Session from 2pm-3pm. Come along and make some spooky masks. Open to all ages. 
Tranent Library are delighted to announce the launch of a Spooky Story Competition. Write your story in under 250 words and submit your entry by Monday 22nd October. Open to ages 0-16. Collect your entry form from Tranent library and win prizes!
Also don’t miss Tranent Library’s Halloween Party on Friday 26th October from 3pm-4:30pm. They’ll be dookin for apples, playing spooky games, having a Ghost Treasure Hunt, a Pumpkin PiƱata, Terrible Treats, and Fancy Dress. They will also be announcing the winners of the Spooky Story Competition!

Get Online Week

Get Online Week runs from 15-21 October and is the UK's biggest digital inclusion campaign.
In 2018, there are still 4.3 million people in the UK with no Basic Digital Skills and 11.3 million have only limited abilities.

This years Get Online Week gives people the opportunity to Try 1 Thing - to try just one new thing online in order to improve their digital skills.

So if you're going to Try 1 Thing why not try one of East Lothian Libraries e-resources?

We have a huge range of resources in our eLibrary for you to explore from eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eNewpapers, eComics and eFilms. We also have eTraining which includes ArtistWorks, Universal Class and Theory Test Pro.  East Lothian Library members can also access Encyclopaedia Britannica, SCRAN and Ancestry Library Edition.
