Computer Xplorer workshops: Create your own TV programme

Friday March 22, 1.45pm to 4.45pm

Would you like to be the newsreader, reporter or producer of a news, weather, sports or cookery programme? Here’s a unique opportunity to learn how to produce your own TV programme on any topic including devising the format, writing the scripts, recording video clips with the help of an auto-cue and special effects. You will also learn post production techniques to put finishing touches to the programme prior to broadcast, such as adding video material, music, titles and credits.

Create your own comic book
Saturday March 23, 10:00am - 1.00pm

In this workshop you will be writing and designing your very own comic book. Using innovative comic book software, digital art and your very own photos to illustrate your own comic. Be creative, be inspired; be a superhero!

These are both free events, but they need to be booked in advance. Suitable for 9-12 year olds.

Forensic Fiction, Friday 15th March, 7.30pm. Dunbar scifest, in association with Lennoxlove Book Festival and Dunbar Library presents an evening with Scottish crime writer Lin Anderson and forensic psychologist Kathy Charles. Come and hear Lin Anderson, bestselling crime-writing creator of fictional forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod, discuss where facts meets fiction with real-life forensic scientist Dr Kathy Charles of Napier University. They will discuss their work and take questions from the audience.
