Our Digital Blether Returns!


From 1st April until 30th May the eBook, How to Stop Time by Matt Haig is available via Borrowbox with multiple access.
Up to 500 borrowers can read this title at the same time with no need to reserve & no waiting times!
Whilst currently confined to home, you can still download, read & blether about the title with friends, family & your book group via digital means such as Skype, Facetime, Zoom, What's App or by phone. 
We would love to know what you thought about the book so a post will be added to Facebook where you can leave comments & reviews. You can also discuss on social media using #DigitalBlether.

Library Closures and Mobile Library Update

East Linton, Gullane and Ormiston Libraries


East Linton, Gullane and Ormiston libraries are now closed until further notice.
Books may be returned to Dunbar, North Berwick,Haddington or Tranent libraries at the moment, but that may change at short notice. Please do not worry if you are unable to return or renew your library books just now, there will be no fines. Wallyford Library
Wallyford library is closed until further notice. Books may be returned to Musselburgh or Prestonpans libraries at the moment, but that may change at short notice. Please do not worry if you are unable to return or renew your Wallyford library books just now, there will be no fines. Longniddry Library - changes to opening hours
Longniddry Library will only be open on a Tuesday from 10am – 1pm and 2pm-5pm until further notice. Books may be returned to Port Seton or Prestonpans libraries at the moment, but that may change at short notice. Items may be renewed online https://capitadiscovery.co.uk/eastlothian/home or by phoning Prestonpans library on 01875 818150. Please do not worry if you are unable to return or renew your Longniddry library books just now, there will be no fines. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Mobile Library

Live Borders are still currently providing a Mobile library service to East Lothian areas ( Innerwick and Oldhamstocks) and are following the Live Borders guidelines with regards to Coronavirus.


Midlothian libraries have made the decision to close all library service points including the Mobile library service so there will be no mobile library service to Humbie, Whitecraig,Macmerry, Pencaitland, East Saltoun and Gifford until further notice.
