We are pleased to announce that we have a wide range of eResources available for borrowers to access, all for FREE as part of an East Lothian library membership. We pride ourselves on offering a varied range which keeps us at the forefront of eResource provision.


eBooks and eAudiobooks

We have two providers of eBooks, Bolinda Borrowbox and Rbdigital so we are able to offer borrowers a wide range of choice including popular fiction and non-fiction, new releases, and classics.  Borrowbox has collections for Children, Young People as well as Adults.

For eAudiobooks, we have a huge selection, with over 1800 titles available via RBdigital. This includes a variety of genres, new releases and popular authors such as Chris Brookmyre, Ian Rankin, Peter May, Val McDermid and many many more.

There are also a range of eAudiobooks for children available through Bolinda Borrowbox.

There are no late fees on eBooks/eAudio and they are automatically removed from your mobile device when due.  You can enjoy eBooks and eAudiobooks at home or on the go 24/7!

eMagazines and eNewspapers

We also have two providers of eMagazines, Pressreader and RBdigital.

Rbdigital provides access to popular magazines, such as Runner's World, Hello, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, Mother and Baby and more. No check out periods and no limits.

Pressreader provides more than 7000 newspaper and magazine titles from 100 countries in 60 languages - including most UK newspapers! Content is always up to-date and often available before print editions.

Rbdigital Graphic Novels

This gives you unlimited access (no loan limits) to over 1,000 digital graphic novels and comics . We have comics from top brands such as Marvel and Disney and also top comic series. Comics are available for a variety of ages groups so there is something for everyone.

eFilms - IndieFlix


With IndieFlix you can enjoy over 7,000 high-quality shorts, features, documentaries, classic TV shows and Web series from 85 countries. View films from major festivals all over the world, including Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca, and more!

Music Concerts and documentaries -Stingray Qello

Ancestry Library Edition has over 4 billion records available to search, including historical censuses, parish records, military records and passenger lists. This can only be accessed from a computer in one of our libraries.
    SCRAN - This is a charitable online learning resource base with over 360,000 images and multimedia files from museums, galleries, archives and the media.


    ArtistWorks: learn to play a musical instrument with step-by-step learning videos from some of the world's most sought-after musicians and teachers. 

    The Great Courses is a lifelong learning resources and has over 150 of the most popular full length courses. Courses are taught by top professors and experts. It has hundreds of engaging videos on a variety of subjects from photography to art to history to health and more.

    Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory tests for all vehicle categories. It contains all the official test questions licensed from the DVSA, the people who set the tests. 

    Transparent Language Learning is online language course which provides free unlimited to courses in over 90 languages. It offers the widest variety of high quality learning materials and integration of real-life language used by native speakers. English Learning for Beginner and Intermediate levels, Kidspeak is accessible through Transparent Language Learning and is fun, appropriate online language course for children 6+

    Universal Class offers online video based lessons for over 500 courses including Yoga, Digital Photography, Computer Basics, Accounting, Basic Math, Autism, Confidence building and many more.

    Joseph Coehlo Visit to Musselburgh Library

    We are delighted to announce that the poet, Joseph Coehlo will be visiting East Lothian next week as part of his UK library marathon. 

    Joseph aims to join a library in every region of the UK and he hopes to encourage people to join a library and show how great libraries are! You can follow his journey here.

    He will be at Musselburgh Library on Tuesday 20th August at 11.45am so come along and give him a warm East Lothian welcome.

    Calling all Comic Fans!

    We are really excited to announce that we have just updated our eComic selection and we now offer 1200 eComics for you to choose from!

    There is a great range of genres available from Science Fiction, Superheroes, Fantasy, Horror, Crime and Mystery and more.

    You can choose from top comics and graphic novels including Marvel and Disney and enjoy popular brands and series. We have comics to appeal to a variety of ages so there should be something for everyone!
