Writer of the Year competition 2013

Are you interested in writing?  Do you like using words creatively?  Why don’t you give your talent the opportunity to shine by taking part in the prestigious, annual Writer of the Year competition which is organized by Tyne and Esk Writers in conjunction with East Lothian and Midlothian Library Services?  To do this you do not need to be a member of Tyne and Esk Writers but you do need to live or work in East Lothian or Midlothian and ebe over 16 years of age. You can enter prose, poetry or both prose and poetry.

Entry forms are available at the libraries in East Lothian and Midlothian as well as on the website for Tyne and Esk Writers. ( and the closing date is 16th August.

Two experienced and widely published writers, Zoë Strachan and Christine de Luca are our judges. Zoë will judge the prose while Christine will select the poetry.

Along with a cash prize the overall winner will receive the beautiful Alison Kinnaird trophy which he/she may keep for one year. Tyne and Esk Writers would like to thank Kesley’s Bookshop in Haddington for sponsoring this event and East Lothian and Midlothian Library Services for supporting it.
