3 harbours festival at Prestonpans and Port Seton libraries

  • 1st June – 7th July Photographic exhibition By John Greeenwood. Old photos of Prestonpans and the surrounding area including Port Seton, Musselburgh and Joppa
  • 1st – 9th June ‘Pans Prams’ An exhibition of vintage and retro prams, toys and memorabilia.
  • ‘Tea Set Posy’ Open Competition. Find a use for that old cup or the little jug you have just never got rid of. Use it to fill with a wee floral display and enter it in this competition. Entries must be submitted before 16.00 on Friday 7 June. Winners will be announced at 12.00 on Saturday 8 June at Prestonpans Library
  • Children’s Miniature Garden Competition. Create a miniature garden in a tray or container. Use your imagination and find all sorts of householdmaterials, sand, gravel, little mirrors, twigs, pebbles and plants to make your garden. Categories 1. P3 and under 2. P4 to P7 Rules: Must be your own work and handed in to the library by 16.00 on Friday 7 June. Container or tray must be smaller than 38 x 24 cm No more than 3 plastic animals in the ‘garden’ Entry forms will be available at Prestonpans Library. Name and contact details and school class must be with your ‘garden’. The Friends of Cuthill Park will judge the entries. Winners will be announced at 12.00 on Saturday 8 June at Prestonpans Library.Please remember to take your gardens home unless they are for recycling.   • 3rd to 9th June. Gosford Film productions: Including “East Lothian at War”
  • Monday 3 June 17.00 – 19.00 ‘Weave & Waffle.’ Weaving can be addictive! Come along and join Ros Parkyn ‘paint’ with colour and thread. There are lots of wools and threads in my boxes for you to use. But do bring any hoarded treasures you want to incorporate. Peg looms and tapestry frames will be available for you to use.   • Tuesday 4 June 14.00 – 16.00 Knit and Natter. An afternoon of knitting, tea and cake. with support and guidance from Alison Lees from ‘Carousel’ in Prestonpans. Or just drop in to add your row or two ofknitting to the Prestonpans Library Garland that we hope will keep growing longer throughout the week. Suitable for all ages and levels, from beginners to the most experienced.
  • Thursday 6 June 14.00 to 16.30 Borders Scrap Store. Arts and crafts mobile shop and a demonstration.
  • Friday 31st May to Friday 14th June. Photographic exhibition by Watty Anderson “Bringing back the past”
  • Saturday 1st June. Youth and children’s arts festival 2013. In the community centre 10am – 3pm with storytelling in the library
  • Tuesday 4th June, 2.30pm – 4.30pm. “Tea and a Chat”, talk to local fishermen, artists and others about the past, the present and the future of what is happening in the community. Tea and Coffee available, donations for CLIMB charity.
  • Thursday 6th June, 2.30pm – 3.30pm. “Understanding Crime – the dark side of East Lothian”, a talk by Margaret MacDonald.
